Automotive Technology
This is a 96 hour course broken down into four modules (24 hours each) that was designed as an entry level program based on the National Automotive Technician Education Foundation (NATEF) model for maintenance and light repair. This program is designed to excel entry level technicians with a broad skill set, solid foundation in electrical/electronics, and general understanding of all automotive systems.
- Module I: Automotive Shop Safety, Tools and Equipment
This mod provides the opportunity to take a Lift certification.
- Module II: Engine Fundamentals
This mod provides the opportunity to take the SP2 certification.
Prerequisite: Auto I or written employer recommendation
- Module III: Fundamentals of Electricity
This mod provides the opportunity to take Electrical 1, 2 and 3 certifications.
Prerequisite: Auto I and II or written employer recommendation
- Module IV: Steering, Suspension, Brakes and Alignments
This mod provides the opportunity to take a Tire/Wheel certification.
Prerequisite: Auto I, II, and III or written employer recommendation
